20 Dec to 22 Jan hehe slacker post...

Feb 22nd
Wow... guess I should have taken some blog/journal lessons from my dear sister Marilyn lol.
Sooo... where were we last... We spent Christmas and new years still in Quartzsite. Uneventful little town. The big show came and went. Tons of junk to be seen. More rocks than most mountain ranges have I think! We spent some time touring around a bit but there really isn't alot to see in the desert. I'm not sure if I'm alone here but when I thought 'desert' I thought sand and cactus and more sand! Well here it is the Sonoran desert... so its rocks and dirt and cactus and more rocks and dirt!! I still have not seen a roadrunner so as far as I'm concerned the only one in existence is in the cartoons *meep meep* Gary claims to have seen one but go figger.. no picture LOL
While we were sitting in Quartzsite, Gary was researching something to alter/repair/upgrade on the 5er and found an neat little web site. He told me to "check it out, sign up and tell them we'll be there around the 14th of Jan" The site is Montanaowners.com. A great little find for us! So I joined up and off we went to The Circling of the Montanas! Our new friends Dick and Jackie took a group of us out to the Desert Bar. It's only open weekends from noon til sunset. Carved into the mountains out of the remnants of an old mine is this little country bar. Cheap drinks and burgers and some great live music! A great time was had by all! We made alot of new friends and got some great ideas about mods for the rig! It sort of got Gary motivated on making us more self sufficient when we go boondocking (dry camping). We are just in the middle of getting the final stages ordered up! We got the BIG batteries and the inverter/charger system, now we just have to get the solar panels and were set!
So we spent almost 3 weeks with the circle group, just outside of Quartzsite on BLM land. After the was done for us, we moved slightly north for a week at Cattail Cove, just outside Lake Havasu City, AZ. beautiful spot, I'm sure we will go back there. Nice little campground on the banks of Lake Havasu. We kept in contact with a few others from the circle and had made plans to meet up nearer Lake Havasu City to watch a weekend of fireworks display. It's part of the Lake Havasu City WinterBlast and Western Pyrotechnics Convention. So we found ourselves boondocked outside the city on more (you guessed it) rocks and dirt and cactus!
After the fun of all that we headed to Bullhead City to refresh lol! Get some laundry done and have lots of unlimited HOT showers! Dry camping is easy on the budget but hard on the water supply. So here we sit for a couple of weeks. Gary just put the order in for the solar panels so we will be here until the arrive and probably till they get installed. This means I must climb up on the roof of the rig lol
Bullhead City, AZ... across the Colorado river from Laughlin, NV. We haven't checked out too much around here. We did go to one of the casinos briefly... *yawn* Not really our cup of tea but the free drinks are umm well watered down and free LMAO
We've toured a little bit but I'm seeing this year is the year that we get the trailer sorted out. We've upgraded, moved, shuffled and added on so many parts, this is feeling more like a home and less like an RV everyday! And THEN dear reader, i WILL get pictures up :) i promise!
So I leave you again, hopefully not for as long... Love you miss you xox

catch up post

Dec 17th
So we finally moved again! Andrew flew back to Canada last Friday and arrived so some pretty cold weather. Since we no longer need to wait for the bike to get repaired, we moved on. Kevin is graciously storing the bike for us. Thanks Kev!
We landed in Quartzsite on Tuesday afternoon. It was one of Gary's destination choices so here we are. The RV park he found borders on BLM land and allows atv's and stuffs. It was the choice since Andrew could ride right out the door and hit the dirt blazing. Well on arrival its not quite what the website said lol We inquired as to rates and were told the monthly plus power was probably our best deal since we were going to stay 2 or 3 weeks. Imagine our surprise when we realized the monthly sites are 55+ and she thought Gary was 55! I nearly died laughing! Its definitely a good deal though. So we will use it as a base for now to scout out the dry camping areas around here and possibly touch base with people we know that are in Yuma.
Dec 19th
Still slacking on the whole picture taking. We have taken a few but I'm really bad at getting them on here. We checked out the town a bit. It looks like a huge fair ready to happen. I'm not sure what all to expect come January but I think every rockhound on this continent that can, will be here! The vendors are trickling in slowly... I think i'm glad we will only be here for a bit when its fully loaded. That's alot of old people looking at rocks.. wondering if the fossils are long lost family? lol All kidding aside, it will be a majorly busy place to be sure! I think i need to do a bit more research as to what exactly is around here so i have more to share! For now we are just mainly relaxing! Gary is puttering on the trailer (like a little old man should teehee) and i have got alot of reading and stitching and enjoying the sun a bit more lately.
Well, hopefully we will be doing more so that i have something exciting to post here for your enjoyment! If not, then I'll keep you up to date on our boring little lives!
Happy holidays and stay warm, love and hugs as always xox

Well, it's another day without snow LOL I feel somewhat sorry for all of you braving winter! We are still at Lake Pleasant waiting on Andrews bike. I think another week in this area then probably heading to Quartzsite area. There's some great trails around here for Andrew to explore and I'm happy where ever we land. The weather has been most cooperative but we are expecting some rain this week. I won't whine hehe it isn't snowing at least! :)
I think about Marilyn and Mum every morning here. There alot of little birds that I have no clue what they are. I think I saw chickadees lol but the rest are just little brown things or little grey ones hehe. I dont have a bird book here to look them up, but they sure love Jacks leftovers! Stll haven't seen a roadrunner yet though :( I should get better at the whole picture taking thing so I can post them and maybe one of you lovely readers may know what they are.
So, nothing exciting or new here lol I guess I should try to get some pictures since it's looking to be a lovely sunny day! Love and Hugs!

Moving Day

Well we moved about 50 miles today lol but to a much nicer location. We are at Lake Pleasant, AZ now. A very nice spot, not many people here at the moment, but I'm guessing it will be busier on the weekend. Poked around a bit, found some fun trails to drop Andrew off with his bike and then we can take the jeep and do some safe-ish off roading too! Can't wait!! I really need to get some picture taking done. i did take the camera today but forgot to actually use it hehe. At least i remembered it :)
Love to all!

slow blogger...

Sorry I've been slow getting stuff up here! It seems like not much has happened yet. We blazed the trail southward thru some chilly weather in our un-winterized home. A couple nights that got really chilly so we had to keep the trailer extra warm to keep the tanks from freezing! Andrew drove the jeep most of the way down with his bike strapped to the back! A real trooper in my opinion. We made it to the border the first night and then getting to the border crossing early when there was minimal line ups. They seemed to be more worried about us leaving Andrew behind than bringing anything illegal into the US! Once we were done at customs we hauled ass south, dreaming of nicer weather. Saw the tip of the Grand Canyon for a second! We've been in Black Canyon City(not really a city) about 1/2 hour north of Phoenix for the last week and a bit. Got together with Kevin and Val and the kids on sunday and are headed there today for Thanksgiving. Kevin is fixing Andrews bike so he can get out there and get up close and personal with some amazing trails! I hope he learned from Jack and myself that cactus is a pokey owie tree!!
We've spent alot of time getting all the bells and whistles put on the trailer since we got here. I think it's all ready now for some serious boondocking. Just waiting on the hub to get replaced for internet then I think we are totally done...for now! I think this weekend we will finally get to see something other than Ace hardware! I haven't taken much for pictures yet so I need to get on that asap!
Well, off to get ready for dinner! Take care everyone!
Love and Hugs
