slow posting strikes again!!!

10-Jul-10
Hello again Dear Reader! Hope you all have been safe and happy since we last spoke! Things have been fun for us!
We ended up staying at Fairfax Lake for a couple of weeks and it was awesome! The weather was decent and the fishing was ok. Gary got a lot of dock time and we both managed to land some fishies for dinner. It was a very quiet lake, I’m assuming because it is so out of the way. About 80 kms from Nordegg or 45 from Robb on the forestry trunk road... We did make a couple trips to both places to resupply on some items and I for one was pleasantly surprised at the fact that the Robb store was better stocked than Nordegg! The park itself was well worth it. They charge 10 bucks a night but that includes firewood! So as far as we could see it was essentially free lol so we enjoyed the peace and quiet and some wonderful walks around the place. There was a cougar spotted by one boater but on the opposite side of the lake from the campground. We never did see it in the park. I’m sure Jack would have alerted us if it did show up.
From there we went to Edson for a couple nights to clean up and do some shopping. I, for one, will never stay at East of Edson RV park again. Overpriced and kind of shabby. We were greeted and checked in by a kid about 12 or 13 and he directed us to a site about 6 feet wide lol. I went back to him and explained that we are a little on the big side and what other sites were available. We ended up in a bit wider site but ugh. But, since we were really just there to clean up and get laundry done we resigned to the fact that we didn’t have to go back there any time soon!
After that “joyous” weekend we trekked onward to another trout lake. Apparently Alberta has a ton of little pothole lakes that are stocked with trout. This one is called Dolberg Lake. It’s sort of in the Barrhead area, nearish to Thunder Lake. Small unserviced campground but right on the lake. Gary has been out almost every day. I’ve gone out a few times as well. I love my little belly boat! Just get out and float around and toss your hook at the water. We haven’t managed to land anything yet but just to be out fishing is great!
So Dear Reader, you are now up to date again on our little adventure! As always I’ll try to keep you updated and stuff  for now, stay happy! Love you, miss you tons *hugs*
